Bird Class with Carol  Carol Andres, "A Birder"  2010

Birds of the Firelands 2010 Class

Have you been wanting to learn how to identify those backyard birds?

Are you looking for a great way to sharpen your identification skills?

Have you been looking for other birders to share your excitement with?

Firelands Audubon’s “Birds of the Firelands” class may be just what you are looking for!!

This 8-week short course begins on Thursday, April 1 and runs through Thursday, May 20. We will meet each Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Firelands room of Osborn Park for classroom sessions and will have Saturday morning field trips to area birding spots. Cost of the class is just $40. The chapter offers the Mary Sue Young scholarship to one or two participants each year if the fee is a hardship.

The instructor, once again will be Carol Andres, with help from Sandy Burris and Sheryl Young. Topics covered in these sessions include: basic bird ID, bird song, migration, where to find birds and most importantly the Saturday morning sessions in the field actually birding.

To register, e-mail Carol at chickadee1956@yahoo.com or call her at 419-639-3097. You can also register at the first class.

Birding is the fastest growing hobby in the United States, come join other birders and see what all the fuss is about!
